Department of Oral andMaxillofacialSurgeryof Stomatological Hospital ofShandong University is a large-scale oral and maxillofacial surgery with a comprehensiveprofessional and technical team in Shandong Province. There are 22 doctors and 20 nurses in the department. Among them, 3aredoctoralsupervisorsand 8aremastersupervisors. There are four senior experts and five Vice-Senior experts.We have 7 dentists who have adoctoral degree.
There are 15 imported comprehensive treatment units in outpatient clinicsand50 beds in wards,which allow us to domore than 1,000 operations per year, andto give treatment tomore than 20,000 outpatients per year. The Department has standardized laminar flow operating room, complete anesthesia equipment, advanced medical technology and modern medical equipment, such as dual-frequency radio frequency scalpel imported from the United States, high-frequency electric scalpel, bone power system imported from Germany, ultrasound bone scalpel imported from Germany, surgical microscope imported from Germany, diagnosis and video system of temporomandibular arthroscopy, voice examination diagnosis and correction system, comfortable treatment system of laughing gas, etc.
Specializedareas include: alveolar surgery, oral and maxillofacial inflammation, oral and maxillofacial trauma, oral and maxillofacial tumors, salivary gland diseases, orthognathic surgery for dentofacial deformities, sequential treatment of cleft lip and palate, orthopaedic and maxillofacial deformities, oral and maxillofacial implantation, temporomandibular joint diseases, facial nerve diseases. With the development of Stomatology, many new treatment methods have been applied in the clinic, such as multi-disciplinary "digital" customized orthognathic surgery to repair maxillofacial deformities; 3-D printing based oncology surgery to repair defects of oral and maxillofacial tumors after surgery; facial plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery for lip and palate cleft sequence treatment, etc.

Dental andMaxillofacialSurgery is a doctoral and master's degree program of Stomatologyin Shandong University. It undertakes the education and training of undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral students,refresherdoctors and resident physicianin the School of Stomatology of Shandong University. It has trained a large number of excellent oral and maxillofacial surgeons for many hospitals both inside and outside Shandong Province. In addition,Oral andMaxillofacialSurgery has continuously strengthened discipline construction, and has extensive exchanges and cooperation with well-known institutions at home and abroad to provideitsmedical staff with learning opportunitiesto keep pace with thenew technological advances.
At present, it undertakes more than 10 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, the Provincial Natural Science Foundation and the Ministry of Health, and has won many awards for scientific research achievements at the national and provincial levels. More than 300 papers have been published in academic journals at home and abroad, including more than 50 papers in SCI.
